Dutch Minister of Culture Jet Bussemaker announced that the government is willing to contribute EUR 80,000,000 for two Rembrandt paintings, now part of a private collection. The two paintings, wedding portraits of Maerten Soolmans and Oopje Coppit, are for sale for the sum of EUR 160,000,000 (USD 180,000,000) after weeks of negotiations and months of speculation.
